LANSCAPE AND MINDSCAPE
We will start our very special day in New York with a walk through the heart of Central Park, exploring key features of its inspired design with a docent from the Central Park Conservancy as our guide. We’ll pass small boats sailing the Conservatory Waters, pause to take in the carvings at Bethesda Terrace and more, as we make our way westward to conclude our ramble at Strawberry Fields, the memorial to John Lennon. Our bus will then take us to the Upper East Side where you will have lunch on your own at a nearby restaurant. We will provide a list of suggestions. Our final destination will be the Jewish Museum for a guided tour of the unique exhibit, “Leonard Cohen: A Crack in Everything.” Through his music, songs and poems, Cohen has influenced countless artists across all disciplines and generations. This immersive, visually compelling exhibit presents installations by artists inspired by Leonard Cohen, as well as innovative multimedia environments in which Cohen’s songs will be performed. We will also have time to visit some of the museum’s vast collections before heading home.
