Description
An in-depth exploration of some great albums of 1968 & 1969, including work by Aretha Franklin, Caetano Veloso, Johnny Cash, The Band, The Beatles, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, The Velvet Underground, Sly & The Family Stone, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, The Who, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band, and King Crimson. We will generally examine 2 albums per class, with a thorough look at lyrics, music, structure, arrangement, and production, as well as cover art, biography, context and impact. We will provide video links to students who can’t attend at the scheduled time.
