Join us in the nation’s capital to visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Since its opening in 2016 by President Barack Obama, it has become one of the nation’s most visited museums and the world’s largest devoted to its subject. Its vast array of art and artifacts, such as the lace shawl given to Harriett Tubman by Queen Victoria and a trumpet owned by Louis Armstrong, bring to life African- American history, activism, and contributions to every aspect of American culture. We’ll see the permanent exhibits, including one opened this past July focusing on Mary McLeod Bethune and Black women as forces for change, and fascinating temporary ones as we explore the 10 stories (five above ground and five below) according to your interests. You’ll receive a $22 voucher for lunch at the museum’s Sweet Home Café.
