An in-depth exploration of some great albums of late 1970 and early 1971, including work by The Doors, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Funkadelic, Marvin Gaye, George Harrison, Jethro Tull, Janis Joplin, Carole King, The Kinks, John Lennon, Joni Mitchell, The Rolling Stones, Cat Stevens, Rod Stewart, and Velvet Underground. We will generally examine two albums per class, with a thorough look at lyrics, music, structure, arrangement, and production, as well as cover art, biography, context, and impact.
