A DEEP DIVE INTO PHILADELPHIA’S ABOLITION MOVEMENT

Shed new light on the local abolitionist movement through art and artifact resources on slide presentations. This class will help you look deeply into works of art from the Philadelphia Museum of Art and artifacts from the Historic Society of PA that illuminate the movement and the flight to freedom. Among the many highlights will be the fascinating, secret diary of William Still, who recorded the experience of enslaved people on the underground railroad in Philadelphia.
